Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat Early Bird (RCSA Families):Opens Wed., Nov. 19 — $540 / $399 (member price) Public Early Bird: Opens Tues., Nov. 25 — $540 / $399 (member price) Regular Rates: Effective Tues., Dec. 16 — $600 / $450 (member price) Ages: 10 – 17 Auditions: January 5-8 Students will go through an audition process in order to determine their role in the show. There will be a dance audition as well. (Date and time TBD) Rehearsals: Begin the week of January 12th – February 20th We will do our best to provide a schedule ahead of time on a week by week basis so cast members know when they will be needed. Cast members may NOT be called to every rehearsal based on what is being worked on a specific night. Because of this, we ask that before you enroll, be aware that all participants are limited to no more than two conflicts for the entire rehearsal period. Please be aware that all conflicts can and may affect casting decisions. We understand that things come up last minute, illness, family matters, etc. and will do our best to accommodate those situations on a case by case basis. Musical Theater Masterclass with Emily Kristen Morris Tuesday, December 10, 2024 Ages: 8 – 13 (All students in this age group must be accompanied by an adult – adults will not be charged, only singers or observers)Cost: $125 – Singer (11 spots available) | $55 – Observer (no limit)*Time: 5 PM – 7 PM This class is all about our younger students learning to act through song!The class will include: A musical theatre-focused group warm-up. One-on-one song coaching (an average of 10 mins per singer) Our younger students will learn in this class about acting through song, and what it takes to stand out in musical theatre. Learn what it takes to make strong choices in an audition room! Emily will also give singing guidance on how to improve their vocal strength, agility, balance, and connection with the song they’re singing. A Q&A at the end for everyone who attends. Ask Emily about vocal technique, audition questions, being a professional NYC actor, and what it’s like to do a Broadway national tour… all questions are welcome! A photo op at the end of the Masterclass with Emily. Required: Students who enroll as singers in either section MUST come prepared with a memorized song. Static is the first musical to utilize Morse code as a method of dramatic storytelling, including cryptic Morse mode clues and secret messages embedded in the music, creating an immersive and mystery-filled audience experience. RCSA’s cast and creative team have spent five weeks workshopping this musical with writer and composer Tess Rowan, learning what went into the creation of this unique work and participating in its continued development. SPECIAL EVENT ON JULY 19: RCSA OnStage is excited to offer a special Talk Back session with Tess and actors following the performance __Tess Rowan (Book/Music/Lyrics) is a writer, director, and performer from the Washington, D.C. Area. She began writing the book, music, and lyrics of Static when she was in middle school and is thrilled to workshop Static with Raue Center School For The Arts this summer. Tess had her first play published at 14 years old. She co-founded Saxon Stage After Hours, a playwriting, directing, and student production group. She was a Lead Critic in the Cappies of the National Capital Area for youth theater journalism in the D.C. Area. Tess will also choreograph The Raue Center for the Arts’ production of Moana Jr. this summer.
