This full-day camp experience is appropriate for all levels of theatre experience–from the beginner student looking to try out something new, to the seasoned young performer! This program gives young students a deep dive into the exciting world of musical theatre performance. Our professional instructors will focus on all aspects of acting, movement, dance, and vocal technique to give students a glimpse into the craft of this vibrant art form, foster their creativity and talent, and help them develop as young performers. Throughout the day students will get to work on theatre-themed crafts, choreography, and more, all while building the confidence to take the stage with pride with their fellow campers. At the end of the week, students will get the chance to put all those great new skills into practice for an audience, as they take the stage in a special evening showcase on Raue’s new Arts on the Green space, located outdoors at St. Mary’s.CAMP RCSA 2022 THEME: Page To StageThis summer, we’re exploring musicals based on famous works of literature! This is the workshop for you!RCSA is proud to once again present its popular signature workshop for high school students: a two-week intensive musical theatre program for students ages 15-18, led by RCSA favorite Amanda Flahive–who’s appeared in over 25 shows as an original ensemble member of Williams Street Repertory, the in-house professional theatre company at Raue Center for the Arts. Students will explore all aspects of classic and modern musical theatre, with a focus on the three core performance disciplines unique to the genre–acting, singing, and dance. With special sessions on audition technique, improvisation, movement and vocal health, as well as guest instructors including veterans of the Chicago and New York theatre scene, this class is a true immersive experience for young performers, helping them to develop as artists and young theatre professionals–and a must for any student with plans to pursue a theatre career.
