Add this option from your cart. If you have a student that is potentially interested in pursuing a major related to Theatre in college, this workshop is designed to help high school students and their parents navigate what can be a confusing and challenging application process. Our teacher, Nick Hrutkay, is the Director of Education at Stagedoor Manor having coached students through numerous college applications processes. He knows exactly how stressful and complicated it can all feel and is here to help you. This workshop will focus on introducing the students to the necessary skills required to get the most out of their college auditions. The main points of focus for this workshop will revolve around helping students organize themselves for the audition process, find/choose appropriate audition material, a Q&A forum, financial aid information, guide you through differences of major programs, and provide tools allowing your child to be prepared for the artistic responsibilities involved in auditioning for universities. We encourage parents and students to both attend as there will be a lot of questions answered about the process. Nick will also be offering an opportunity for 10 students to showcase their potential audition pieces. Students who would like to be provided with feedback, ideas and thoughts for the best possible audition should come prepared with a memorized monologue (NO MORE THAN 1-minute in length) as well as a 16-bar cut of an audition song. This will be on a first come/first serve registration basis. Workshop held at Raue Center For The Arts. Recommended Ages: Freshman through Senior in High School, but all ages welcome.
